Curriculum

Your child will receive a personalized, engaging curriculum at our school. From 1st grade through 5th grade, our elementary school curriculum provides students with rich opportunities for intellectual, creative, physical, emotional and social growth. We emphasize hands-on exploration and meaningful problem-solving in an engaging, stimulating environment that is both challenging and supportive.

Intellectual discovery and critical thinking are vital parts of our elementary school curriculum. We foster curiosity by encouraging students to ask and respond to meaningful essential questions and then provide students the tools and resources they need to begin to discover or uncover their own answers. In this way, our elementary students build their critical thinking and higher order reasoning skills, along with their ability to become independent learners ready to succeed and flourish in the next step of their educational path, middle school.

Lower Elementary

This is a time of rapid growth in children as they strengthen basic skills and progress to higher level thinking in literacy, math, science and social studies. As children become more aware of the surrounding world, they develop empathy, compassion and understanding for others. They read to learn, understand the world and write to express ideas and opinions.

Upper Elementary

Teachers build on the basic skills students learned in earlier grades to help them apply higher level thinking to all subjects. Improved reading comprehension opens doors to a deeper understanding of ideas, subjects and events. Socially, children begin to internalize values like respect and cooperation and learn accept more personal responsibility. Most importantly, students build the skills they need to succeed in middle school.
