The IWAS Approach
We believe that every student deserves a high-quality, well-rounded education. We support academic, social, and emotional development through an educational approach that inspires responsibility and lifelong curiosity.
Our IB-Aligned Curriculum
IB Candidate School*
IWAS is proud be an international school offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the Middle Years Programme (MYP). Our curriculum is designed to align with global educational benchmarks, ensuring that students can transition smoothly to other schools or graduate with the qualifications needed to gain admission to leading universities worldwide.
At IWAS, the curriculum is built on learning standards and conceptual understandings. These are thoughtfully designed to be developmentally appropriate, providing clear guidance on expectations at each grade level. This approach ensures a strong and seamless progression for students as they advance through their academic journey.
At IWAS, we ensure every student’s learning experience is meaningful and tailored to their unique backgrounds and learning styles. Our supportive environment fosters emotional intelligence, resilience, and a sense of community through mindfulness initiatives and peer mentoring.
At IWAS, the PYP curriculum develops the whole child—academically, socially, emotionally, and culturally—through inquiry-based learning and global concepts. While aligning with American standards, we emphasize a global perspective, preparing students for smooth international transitions. Bilingual learning further enhances students’ cultural awareness and communication skills in diverse settings.
IWAS is an IB Authorized School for the primary years program and Candidate School* middle years program. This school is pursuing authorization as an
IB World School. These are schools that share a common philosophy—a commitment to high quality,
challenging, international education that IWAS believes is important for our students.
*Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary
Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme, or the Career-related
Programme (CP). Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted. For further
